Tyler Durns is a physician practicing in the state of Utah. He was born in Tucson, Arizona where he received an undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with minors in both Chemistry and Psychology. After his undergraduate, Dr. Durns went on to teach and help create courses at the University of Arizona, while concurrently working as a research assistant in a University lab. He also split his time between these academic pursuits and working abroad for a non-profit organization in Peru. After several years of this, he decided to pursue a career in medicine, attending the University of Arizona for medical school. While there he continued working in clinical research and went on to start a free mental health clinic for those without other means to receive care, and went on to receive several local and national awards for clinical care, research, and leadership in the field of psychiatry. Finally on graduating, he relocated to Salt Lake City where he is currently a chief resident. His clinical and and research interests include forensic psychiatry and neuroscience. He is an avid rock-climber and trail-runner.
